February is Dull

February is probably the most boring month of the year I think. Why? Two big problems, the first is obviously the weather. I have a ton of work to do on the outside of the house, but I can't do most of it cause the ground is frozen. Its damn near impossible to dig up dirt when clay gets down below freezing. So that kills that off pretty quick. The second reason is the lack of TV. Now I don't watch alot of shows on TV in the sitcom genre, so I have a pretty limited spectrum to pick from. My shows are mostly sports, good eats, iron chef america, project runway, dinner impossible, and reruns of family guy, futurama, and the simpsons. Other than that, not much else I want. February is the worst month for sports though! No more football, which is by far the most fun to watch, and too early for baseball. All we have right now is regular season NBA and NHL (I do like NHL playoffs but the regular season is just tiresome). What about College Basketball you ask? Well I do watch the Clemson games when they are on here (on that note, the first Duke-Clemson game was bullshit, the refs at Cameron Indoor are some biased little fuckers). But they arn't on much and the rest is dull until you get to march madness. It kills off the evenings since nothing good is on, but the mornings too since sportscenter is even dull. So yeah, February sucks.

Biggest Upset of the Year

Drill was pretty good. We didn't do a whole lot since it was an SRP weekend, but it was still pretty good. I spent my time hanging out with 3 particular people: one is just back in after being out for 20 years, another was a former active guy that got roped back in from IRR after his deployment (same time as me) and the third was a commo guy that does networking on the civilian side. Not that many NCOs in the unit, and i have to admit, its not a bad policy to get out of your unit after you get stripes. If i go to next month's, I might learn to put up float bridges.

But enough of that, there was an enormous upset yesterday, one for the ages almost. Bigger upset than the G-Men downing the Pats. The beagle has won not only the hound group, the beagle has won Best in Show at the Wesminister Dog Show! WOOOOOOOOOOO! Now the beagle isn't my favorite dog, but its quite satisfying to see a common dog with a normal haircut beat out the toy poodle and some other frilly dogs, and the beagle did it as at 325/1 odds. My favorite group, the herding group, was won by the Australian Shepard, while the most beautiful Golden didn't make it out of the sporting group.

First Drill in a while

Tomorrow I have my first Army drill in a while. I was supposed to get excused for the first few months of this year since I am waiting on hearing from the Air Force. Well thats not going to happen apparently as someone changed their mind or was overruled. So instead, I found a unit out here in Oklahoma to drill with, the 401st engineers. Don't have a clue what I'm going to do but should be fine. The plan is to knock this one out, and then RST (rescheduled training) for January. I'll head down to Greenville end of March to knock out the next 2 drills.

Think its my last blog?

This is the last (hopefully) blog I will start. Instead of (snarky) political commentary alot, I simply want a place to post cute pictures of my kitties, and let people know whats going on with my life. Hope you enjoy it!
